DIANE'S CELEBRITY DIRT - WED., JAN. 31

*Us Weekly Magazine is reporting that the producers of American Idol want to replace Paula Abdul with Courtney Love. Paula was out of control on last night's show! She couldn't stay still, wouldn't sit in her chair and was on her knees at one point. It is pretty obvious to me that she's medicated. However, I think Courtney Love is a bad choice. Sure, she's behaving herself now but it's just a matter of time (in my opinion) until she goes back to her bad habits.

*Would you invite your ex to your wedding? Elizabeth Hurley left her ex-boyfriend Hugh Grant off her wedding guest list. She's marrying businessman Arun Nayar in March and will have ceremonies in Britain and India. Liz and Hugh were together for 13 years and he is her son's godfather so I'm shocked that he got snubbed!

*Sting and the guys of the Police will reunite and perform at the Grammys February 11 on CBS

*Singer Brandy is being sued for $50 million! The parents of the woman killed in a car accident in December involving Brandy filed a $50 million wrongful death lawsuit against her. More bad news for Brandy--she could do jail time if the L.A. City Attorney decides to charge her with vehicular manslaughter.

*The CW Network cancelled Reba McEntire's sitcom Reba. The final show will air on February 18

*Beyonce was named the most desirable woman of 2007 by the website askmen.com. According to Beyonce, what's her best feature? Her hands. (Not the booty?)

*Nick Lachey is denying reports that he and girlfriend Vanessa Manillo are planning to get married in April

*Isaiah Washington is scheduled to return to the Grey's Anatomy set as early as Thursday for the first time since entering counseling after making a homophobic slur when referring to his co-star T.R. Knight. There are rumors that T.R. is quitting the show, but a Grey's spokesperson said they are not true (Good, I love T.R.'s character, George)

*George Clooney is denying reports that he and Pamela Anderson are dating. George said he hasn't seen Pam in about 7 years.

*Baby is having a baby! Congratulations to former Baby Spice, Emma Bunton--she's expecting her first baby with boyfriend Jade Jones, a former member of the British boy band Damage. They have been together for 8 years.

*Victoria and David Beckham may star in their own reality show. The Fox Network offered the Beckhams a deal to star in a show called Living With The Beckhams (I would watch!)

*Sources say Justin Timberlake was heating up the Sundance Film Festival in Utah with Jessica Biel, who recently split from Derek Jeter

DIANE'S CELEBRITY DIRT - FRIDAY, JAN. 26

*Nicole Kidman was briefly hospitalized after being involved in a car accident on the set of her movie The Invasion early Thursday morning in Los Angeles. A stunt car crashed during a scene in which Nicole's character was trying to escape zombie-like characters who had attached themselves to the hood of her Jaguar (cool!) Luckily, Nicole suffered no serious injuries and was released.

*Jennifer Garner almost lost a diamond ring that husband Ben Affleck gave to her after the birth of their 1-year-old daughter Violet. Jen dropped the ring under an ice machine in their house and had to call the plumber to retrieve it. She didn't tell Ben when it happened but I guess he knows now!

*Are Jessica Simpson and John Mayer faking it? They were spotted having dinner in Miami earlier this week and a spy said they barely spoke during dinner. Jessica gave a lot of puppy-dog looks and twisted her hair the whole time.

*Desperate Housewives star Eva Longoria's wedding date is set. She and San Antonio Spurs star Tony Parker will get married on July 7, 2007. Tony extremely superstitious and wants to get married on that day so it brings the couple luck. The ceremony will be held near Paris and Eva will travel there next month to meet with her wedding planner.

*If you want to catch a movie this weekend, a few new ones are opening: Smokin' Aces, Catch and Release and Epic

Have a great weekend!

DIANE'S CELEBRITY DIRT - THURSDAY, JAN. 25

*Jennifer Aniston went under the knife--she got a nose job! Her rep said Jennifer had a procedure done to correct a deviated septum that was incorrectly done over 12 years ago. (A tip if you want a nose job: say it's a "deviated sepum" and insurance should cover it)

*Grey's Anatomy's star Isaiah Washington is in counseling after the controversy surrounding his use of a homophobic slur--2 times--when referring to co-star T.R. Knight. Isaiah issued this statement: "With the support of my family and friends, I have begun counseling. I regard this as a necessary step toward understanding why I did what I did and making sure it never happens again." (That's damage control--he doesn't want to get fired and lose that BIG paycheck!)

*Madonna's marriage to Guy Ritchie is reportedly on the rocks again. Can't these two just get along? I hear that the adoption of baby David has put a strain on their relationship.

*Anne Heche left her husband of 5 years, cameraman Coley Laffoon and I hear that she's dating her Men in Trees co-star James Tupper (Google him if you don't watch the show--he's cute!)

*I guess Leonardo DiCaprio will be taking his mom as his date to the Oscars again this year. He's on the outs with his model girlfriend Bar Rafaeli. He thinks she's "too clingy" (typical guy!)

*Eva Mendes was named Cosmopolitan's Fun, Fearless Female of the Year and Nick Lachey was named the Fun, Fearless Male of the Year.

DIANE'S CELEBRITY DIRT - MONDAY, JAN. 22

*The Grey's Anatomy controversy continues. Isaiah Washington, who used a certain slur on the set and backstage at the Golden Globes when referring to gay co-star T.R. Knight, fired his long-time publicist (sure, blame the messenger!) John Mayer blogged about the controversy and said he has a solution. John said the show should make Isaiah's character, Dr. Burke gay so he can get to the roots of his discrimination

*Alec Baldwin is looking for a new love and he joked in the February issue of Glamour that he's thinking about online dating

*Celebrity baby news: Former "Felicity" star Keri Russell is expecting her first baby this summer and Jenna Elfman from "Dharma and Greg" is also expecting her first child.

*American Idol judge Simon Cowell apologized for calling a male contestant a "bush baby" last week. Simon said he wishes he wouldn't have said that (see, he does have a soft side!)

*Paul McCartney and Heather Mills finally reached a truce in their messy divorce. Heather will pocket almost $64 million and keep 2 mansions. Not bad for 4 years of marriage!

*Weekend box office results: Stomp was the #1 movie, follwed by Night at the Museum, Dreamgirls, The Hitcher and the Pursuit of Happyness

*Movie to avoid: I rented The Wicker Man starring Nicolas Cage and it was the worst movie I have ever seen! I love Nic but even he couldn't save this one!

DIANE'S CELEBRITY DIRT - THURSDAY, JAN. 18

*Lindsay Lohan checked into rehab. Lindsay issued a statement saying, "I have made a proactive decision to take care of my personal health,. I appreciate your well wishes and ask that you please respect my privacy at this time." Lindsay is only 20 so I think it's good that she's getting help now before she completely destroys her life and career.

*Jennifer Garner looked fabulous in white at the Golden Globes Monday night. How did she lose the baby weight? Jennifer said she got back on the treadmill and stopped eating muffins and bagels (that's no fun!)

*A rep for Britney Spears denied that Brit is pregnant with her 3rd child. That's a good thing--she's never home with the first two....

*The auditions continued Wednesday night on American Idol. Simon was extra cranky--he said Seattle was the worst city for auditions. He was really mean to a contestant named Kenneth, making fun of his looks. Calling the guy a "bush baby" was uncalled for, Simon! Simon was on Oprah's show yesterday and he said he doesn't think Taylor would have won if he didn't have gray hair.

*Is Cameron Diaz stalking Justin Timberlake? She reportedly followed Justin from party to party after the Golden Globes and got into a 45-minute fight with him at Prince's party after Justin was spotted with Jessica Biel. Cameron, don't make yourself look desperate! I know it's hard to get over a breakup, but you are a talented, attractive, succesful woman--move on with your life! Meanwhile, Cameron moved back in with her parents for some T.L.C.

*Good news if you like Rachael Ray--and not such good news if you don't. Rachael's talk show was renewed for 2 more seasons.

DIANE'S CELEBRITY DIRT - WED., JAN. 17

*Last night was the sixth season premiere of American Idol and the auditions continue tonight at 8:00 on Fox. Out of 10, 000 people who showed up for the auditions in Minneapolis, only 17 made it to Hollywood--maybe that's why Simon was in a bad mood (as usual) and Paula looked like she was in her own world. Producers are negotiating with Mariah Carey and Paul McCartney to appear on the new season. Diana Ross said she will be on the show as a mentor to the contestants (FYI: Beyonce's character in the movie Dreamgirls was reportedly based on Diana Ross.)

*Donald Trump received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and he said his feud with Rosie O'Donnell is over (until she says something else about him on the View, I'm sure....)

*Where in the world are Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie? They moved their family to New Orleans. Brangelina took up residence in a 3.5 million dollar French Quarter mansion while Brad is filming a movie. Hopefully Angelina will be in a better mood there than she was on the red carpet at the Golden Globes.

*There's more trouble brewing among the cast of Grey's Anatomy. Backstage at the Golden Globes Monday night, Isaiah Washington repeated the slur he was accused of saying about co-star T.R. Knight, who confirmed he was gay after the incident on the set. T.R's friend, Katherine Heigl, who plays Izzie, said Isaiah should keep his mouth shut in public (Don't you love when a woman speaks her mind?)

*Nicole Kidman has her hubby back. Keith Urban is officially out of rehab for alcohol addiction after checking in on October 19th. Nicole and Keith were spotted at a post Golden Globes party Monday night in L.A.

DIANE'S CELEBRITY DIRT - TUESDAY, JAN. 16

THE 64TH ANNUAL GOLDEN GLOBE AWARDS

Here are some of the winners from last night:

FILM:
Best Motion Picture - Drama: Babel
Best Motion Picture - Musical or Comedy: Dreamgirls
Best Actor and Actress in a Motion Picture - Drama: Forest Whitaker and Helen Mirren
Best Actor and Actress in a Motion Picture - Musical or Comedy: Sacha Baron Cohen and Meryl Streep
Best Original Song: The Song of the Heart, by Prince from Happy Feet

TV:
Best Television Series - Drama: Grey's Anatomy
Best Television Series - Musical or Comedy: Ugly Betty
Best Actor and Actress in a TV Series - Drama: Hugh Laurie and Kyra Sedgewick
Best Actor and Actress in a TV Series - Musical or Comedy: Alec Baldwin and America Ferrara

My picks for best-dressed: For the ladies: Eva Longoria, Jennifer Lopez, Jessica Biel and Drew Barrymore / For the guys: George Clooney and Patrick Dempsey (It's not difficult to pick out a tux but those guys looked so handsome!)

Behind the scenes: Cameron Diaz and Justin Timberlake, who recently split up, requested arrivals far apart from each other so they wouldn't run into each other on the red carpet.

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie looked stunning as they arrived together on the red carpet. Angelina picked her gown at the last minute (Baby Shiloh spit up on one of the gowns she was considering wearing.) Angelina didn't seem happy to be at the Golden Globes--she barely cracked a smile. In fact, she looked downright miserable! She mentioned something on the red carpet about family being the most important thing. Yes, we know that family is more important then an awards show, but it you're not going to enjoy yourself, don't show up! Many actors and actresses have children and they seemed like they were happy to attend.

Prince got stuck in traffic so he wasn't there to accept his award for Best Original Song for The Song of the Heart from Happy Feet (tip for Prince: order the limo for an earlier time next year!)

*The Golden Globes are coming up Monday night on NBC. Presenters will include Jennifer Lopez, Cameron Diaz, Sarah Jessica Parker, Ben Stiller and Justin Timberlake. But they won't be receiving celebrity gift bags this year. The IRS cracked down on the gifts, saying they are taxable income.
